Chinese Exclusion act (President Arthur really supported) and European Restriction Act. The Chinese Exclusion Act prohibited all immigration of chinese Laborers. The act was supposed to be in play for 10 years, but was let go in 1892. The European Restriction Act imposed head tax on non-citizens of the United States who came to American ports and restricted certain classes of people from immigrating to America.
