The Peloponnesian war was between the different polis of Greece, and if they were united, it would have been considered a civil war by today's standards. The conflict was the result of years of tension aften Athens doing some negative things with supply money that the polis had gotton together. As these struggles proceeded, it allowed for the Macedonians to strive. (2.2)
