The Yellow Turban Rebellion was an uprising of peasants, and was named this because of the yellow headwear that they all wore. They rebelled because of the unequal distribution of land in the Later Han dynasty, which created a severe gap in the living conditions between the rich and the poor. In their actions, they did a very good job of weakoning the centril state. (2.2)
