10 Jan 1985 Jahr - The Singh Decision Satnam Singh and his appeal as a refugee was denied under the Immigration Act of 1976 by the government of Canada. The Supreme Court decided that this went against the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Satnam Singh had the right to appeal his case in person just like every other Canadian.
