Haiti gained their independence on January 1, of 1804. In January the first in 1804 Haiti was the first colony to gain its freedom from the french colony it was a victorious day for all Africans all over the world. Toussaint Louverture was the most successful commander that helped Haiti. He was the son of an African chief called but he was arrested by the french colony and he died in prison.
The second main hero was Jean Jacques Dessalines and he actually conquered the independence.
