Tickle Me Elmo was a toy based on the muppet character "Elmo" from Sesame Street. This toy would start shaking and laughing when it was squeezed. Tickle Me Elmo was popular before the Christmas season, and by the time it was December, Elmo's trademark laugh could be heard from almost every home that had a child.
This toy fad was bought for small toddlers and children between the ages 3-5.
