YouTube is a huge influence on the independent film scene. Starting off as a way to share funny clips, it soon allowed creators to make money off of the Google Adsense service.

This is influential as it gave a platform to smaller creators to express themselves. No longer needed are the elaborate expensive scenes of a movie; you can make a difference and share your vision with very little money to produce.
