The military situation of the Japanese is desperate because the USA marine fleet controls the Japanese waters. It kills between 90,000 and 146,000 people but Japan still refuses to surrender unless guarantees about Japan’s future are given by the Allies, especially regarding the position of Emperor Hirohito.
