'Year of sorrow' ~ Muhammad's wife Kadijah and uncle died in 619 A.D., here his enemies had the chance to get what they want, however a refuge in a northern town Euclid in Mecca knew about Muhammad's good arbitration skills, so they opened to him and his people. They invited Muhammad to create an agreement or a peace among all the peoples in the refuge to be friendly.
