At the time it was mainly used for documentaries, but in 1995 the space movie Apollo 13 was released in IMAX cinemas with immense quality screening. IMAX filming enhances saturation, contrast, colours and brightness. IMAX was a very significant invention because it allowed filmmakers to improve their film viewing resolution and quality. The director Christopher Nolan is a traditional filmmaker, who makes his films at their highest viewing quality. The Dark Knight film screened in 2008, with extremely high quality and produced a box office of 1.005 billion USD, proving that the IMAX is extremely popular.
