A fidget spinner is a small hand-held device with three arms that can be rotated. The original purpose of the toy was to help people who have difficulty focusing, or people with anxiety or neurological disorders to remain calm.

It is believed that Scott McCoskery invented the fidget spinner back in 2014 to cope with his own excessive fidgeting. When Scott realized that there was a demand for the product, he started selling them at high prices.

Although anyone can use the fidget spinner, due to its purpose as a fidget toy, people began buying fidget spinners just because it was popular. The product however was mostly popular among children and adolescents around the globe.
