Beschreibung:

He did this by suspending electrically charged drops of oil between two metal plates. The oil were affected by the downward force of gravity and the upward attraction of an electrical field. He measured how the various drops of oil moved, Robert showed that the charge always was a multiple of the electron’s charge.
