14 Mai 1955 Jahr - Warsaw Pact
Beschreibung:
The Warsaw Pact is signed, with its members including teh Soviet Union, Albania, Poland, Romania, Hungary, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, and Bulgaria. The treaty acknowledged that member states would come to the defence of each other, if invaded by other states outside of the treaty. Through this, we find that the Warsaw Pact gave even more power to Russia, over Eastern European states.
It can also be said that the Warsaw Pact, was seen as a response to West Germany's entry into NATO, also in 1955.
Albania withdrew from the Warsaw Pact in 1962, as they felt that Nikita Khrushchev was deviating too much from traditional Marxist ideologies, turning to Communist China for support instead.
