The Byzantines during that time was no loner under Arab's siege in Constantinople. Hence, the Byzantine sent reinforcements to retake some old position and share with Kusaila in order to make an alliance. Not long after that, a new Ifriqiya governor was appointed named, Zuhair Ibn Qais al Balawi which he lead an army of Arabs and Berbers to defeat Kusaila. With that, Zuhair managed to take back Byzacenia. Therefore, Berber tribe from Tripolitania and Cyrenaica which include Zanata tribe, joined forced with Arab-Muslim. Somehow, at some turning point, there will always be some fighting between the Arab-Muslim and the Berbers though they made alliance. Both powers tend to made alliance even with their rivals in situation which they see fits. Basically for each other's benefits.
