15 Jan 1867 Jahr - Joseph Lister Uses Carbolic Acid and Amnesthesia

A doctor in the 1860's, Lister was the first to realize that infection could be involved in the death of people dying from ward fever and thus used dressings and tools soaked in carbolic acid and tried to sterilize the area around an operation to try and avoid as much infection as possible.
