McDonald's was invented in 1954 by Ray Kroc and officially established the popularity of fast food. Fast food allowed obesity rates to rapidly rise. McDonald's lead to many other fast food chain restraunts which led to an increase in American obesity and allowed unhealthy eating to become widely popular.
