Charles Darwin's theory of evolution is often called Darwinism because now there is more evidence to combine with his theory. Furthermore, his theory was that all things share a common ancestor, and all creatures descended from that ancestor. The way he explained how this could have happened was what he called natural selection, and it states that when an organism develops a mutation nature will then either strengthen that trait or get rid of it after millions of years, depending on whether it is beneficial. Then, after millions of years, all the different animals on the planet were created.
