In 1999 Netflix created the monthly subscription, this didn't require due dates, late fees, shipping or handling fees. Netflix was an evolutionary invention in the late 90's allowing film rentals from home. The first films and TV shows on Netflix were Meet the parents (2000), Caroline (2009) and Fraiser (1993-2004). The monthly subscription now costs between £5.99 and £9.99 depending on the pack you chose. The company is very popular and successful worldwide. This was a very significant invention, because it allowed people all around the world the availability to a wide variety of films and TV programmes. The idea of a monthly subscription was a very significant creation as many people could test out the software without having to permanently purchase something and they could check if they wanted to keep it.
