The BBC introduced colour into its TV broadcasts, only four hours were available in 1966.

This changed the Tv industry as broadcasts were always in black and white despite colour in film being introduced, people thought colour was not possible in broadcasts. It also put the BBC ahead of other networks as people would specifically watch for colour, sometimes despite what was being screened.
