There were more independent working filmmakers after WW2, these tended to be young, film school educated filmmakers. Many films were inspired by the swinging 60's and american movies were changed by the way they looked and sounded, this was down to writers, cinematographers, editors and composers. Director's had their own artistic style, for example Alfred Hitchcock who directed North by Northwest in 1959. Several 60's films included, Bonnie and Clyde, the Graduate and A clockwork orange which are very well known for their crazy and interesting approach to film. These films would be reflected on everyday lives with unusual themes. This was a very significant era because it evolved the different genres of film and encouraged many young people to become involved in the industry.
