The first film "Becky Sharp' was made with full colour in 1939. It was used through strip colours - cyan, magenta and yellow. Using colour was more expensive, but an impressive step forward in film. This was a very significant invention as it allowed better quality films with more detail, this gained more interest and attention to the public so more people went to view films due to having colour. This was also very significant as it encourage more films to use colour such as The Wizard of Oz in 1939, which emphasized the use of colour by starting in black and white, then transforming into colour.
