Many production companies began to move from New York to LA due to being unable to pay Edison's Cartel, more space and a variety of landscapes. This move was very significant because we would never of had "Hollywood" as we know it today. It also impacted the "American New Wave" in the 1960's and I think it is very significant to the development of a variety of film genres by travelling to different environments. This also allowed more people from LA to become involved in the film industry and show different approaches and styles to it.
