Five colonists die after being shot by British soldiers during a cold Boston day while protesting against the taxes and laws. Things got out of hand when the protesters became violent, so the soldiers fired. This was highly important, because it was the first instance of actual deaths caused by the protests. It angered the colonists even more, eventually leading to war.
