The IBM Personal Computer, commonly known as the IBM PC, is the original version and progenitor of the IBM PC compatible hardware platform. It is IBM model number 5150, and was introduced on August 12, 1981. It was created by a team of engineers and designers under the direction of Don Estridge of the IBM Entry Systems Division in Boca Raton, Florida.
1.While the PC was not the first true personal computer, it became synonymous with the technology.
2. The 5150 launched the PC revolution. It changed the way we work, the way we communicate, the way we entertain ourselves.
3.Through IBM's partnership with the fledgling Microsoft company, the PC set in motion a movement toward operating-system standardization.
