A Hard disk recorder is a system that uses a high-capacity hard disk to record digital audio, they are the alternative recording systems to reel-to-reel tape recordings. These systems feature editing capabilities that are not available to tape recorders. The systems which can be standalone or computer based typically include possibilities for digital mixing and processing of the audio signal.
