Henry Moseley discovered that major properties of an element were determined by atomic weight, rather than atomic number. This theory differs from Mendeleev's thoughts, which state that atomic weight is responsible for many of the properties of each element. Moseley also discovered a correlation between the atomic number of the atom and the overall charge of the nucleus. Additionally, Moseley determined that there were additional elements on the periodic table and that there were only 92 elements on the whole table.
