The Treaty of Piratini brought an end to the Chincha Islands War and saw a return of Spanish rule to South America. While the treaty was largely forgiving to Chile, it had crushing impacts on Peru.

1. Chile must pay War reparations to Spain amounting to the damage done to the Spanish fleet.

2. Peru must pay reparations to Spain for both the Talambó Affair, as well as war reparations.

3. Peru must repay all debts owed to Spain in yearly increments.

4. Peru must cede to Spain; The Chincha Islands, Sangayan Island, and the port city of Pisco.
