29 Sept 1914 Jahr - France declares support in all but arms for the Russian Empire

Despite French interests in regaining Alsace-Lorraine and in weakening Germany, the French government settled on what amounted to a cession of neutrality to Germany in September of 1914, this was due to multiple factors.
Firstly, the French public was quickly turning against the Serbian government as the charismatic Milenko Vesnić pushed support for the liberal Serbian government in exile.

Secondly, anti-war sentiment was particularly high in France as socialists like Jean Jaures ( who isn't killed due to less war fever) push for an anti-militarism campaign throughout the labor movement.

And finally, without any British aid and lack of public support the French government knew that a war with Germany could likely be lost.
