The Battle of Britain is considered a significant turning point in WWll because the Germans failed to gain air dominance over the Royal Air Force even though for months they had targeted Britain’s air bases and civilian population. Britain's victory saved them from group invasion and potential occupation by German forces. It was also important because it proved that air force alone was strong enough to win major battles.
