On a sunday morning, the US Naval Base near Honolulu, Hawaii, was attacked by Japanese forces. Japan destroyed and/or damaged 20 naval vessels (8 battleships, 300 airplanes). Over 2,000 Americans were killed and 1,000 were wounded this event marked the entry of the United States into World War II.
