10 Jun 1963 Jahr - Equal Pay Act
Beschreibung:
This act was passed by Congress and signed into law by JFK in June of 1963. This was a huge step in the women’s rights movements in that even though it wasn’t, and isn’t, completely enforced, it got attention for the movement and was a step towards getting equal pay and equal rights in general. It was an amendment to the Fair Labor Act, and it aimed to end the wage disparity between men and women. As women began to start this second wave of feminism, they began fighting for many other of their civil rights and that lead to the civil rights act of 1964.
