The House Un-American Activities Committee was a committee set up by president truman on foreign policy that involves monitoring and targeting hollywood because of the fears of propaganda. They tried to investigate things like seeing if communists were in the screen acting and people like Walt Disney were asked to start strikes. They called hollywood writers and directors to testify that there were no communists infiltrating their movies with propaganda. This caused the cold war to raise internal fear in many aspects of american life.
