Racial tension began along Plymouth Avenue, in Minneapolis. There was a series of assaults, arson, and vandalism. The violence which took place was related to race-related demonstrations in other cities across the nation. The city sent out police forces to attempt to control the crowds and to try to prohibit the amount of damage that was done to the city.
