After an orbit and a half in space, Apollo 11 gets a "go" and is now allowed to head for the moon on July 16. Three days later, they are in orbit. The next day, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin begin their descent onto the moon. The lunar module landed on the moon with only 30 seconds of fuel left. Over the next three years, ten other astronauts followed in their footsteps. This marked the beginning of a new age.
