Over the course of his presidency, Reagan built up the US military. He increased military spending. His presidency saw new weapons, ballistic missiles, submarines, and the intercontinental MX. These were all ways to protect American territory against Soviet attack. All of these military buildups were known as the Reagan Revolution.
