11 Jun 1375 Jahr - Coyolxauhqui Stone

Beschreibung:

volcanic stone
found at the base of the stairs at the templo mayor, on the huitzilopochtli side of the temple
"coyolxauhqui" means "bells her cheeks" easy to identify
location is VERY important, directly under where the stone was found there were earlier versions buried beneath it
scallpoling represents dismemberment.
serves as a narrative for the myth > her mother gets pregnant, she (bell cheeks) becomes enraged and rallies her 400 brothers to rebel but Huitzilpochtli steps in to defend his mother, cuts off bell cheeks' head and throws her off snake mountain where she lands and her body breaks into pieces
Panquetzalitztli= festival devoted to the reenactment of the myth, "raising of the banners", during the festival captives would be killed and their bodies thrown from the top of the temple/rolled down the stairs
