Beschreibung:
Carved statues that were most likely made to honor important ancestors. Most of the statues were made out of volcanic tuff although the more important statues were made out of basalt. It is speculated that before they were toppled they stood side by side with their backs facing the sea while they watched over the island, this symbolizes how they are protectors. These statues were called "hidden protector" or "stolen" in the islander's language and it was located in Rapa Nui, Easter Island.
