IN the early 1950s there was a huge boom in television broadcasting. They started to air sit-coms, news broadcasts and soap operas. There was also a massive rise in the amount of people who bought TVs. in 1946 6,000 TVs were sold in the US but by 1956 12million TVs had been sold. It was the start of death of radio and although radio is still around it is no where near as popular as TV is.
