The IBM model M was a keyboard that revolutionized all further keyboards to be made. Before the model M there were many buttons that needed to be on the keyboard such as shift, caps lock, and control. When the keyboard was made the button layout caught on quickly, soon after the same layout was used on my keyboards. even to this day 20+ years later some people still use the model M and some give it the title of ¨the king of keyboards¨.
