The letter EA 27 must be dated in 1345 BCE and corresponds therefore to Year 12 of Amenhotep IV since the latter died in 1340 BCE in his 17th year of reign. The contents of this letter supports this conclusion. Indeed, the demand for Tu!ratta may be explained only if Amenhotep III, Amenhotep IV's father, had died recently (a few months at most)88, in addition, the preparation of a wide celebration kimru, with sending of gifts, corresponds to foreign tributes that were received on year 12 the IV Peret
