Major Event 1:
A total solar eclipse, when the moon completely blocks the sun, comes but rarely. The next one will be visible on August 21, 2017 in parts of Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. Otherwise you'll have to wait till 2028 in Australia.

Major Event 2:
On Sep. 1, Hurricane Irma first reaches Category 2 as it approaches the Leeward Islands. The hurricane will reach Category 4, going on to become the greatest Atlantic hurricane to pass beyond the Caribbean. The storm causes widespread devastation across several Caribbean countries, prompting housing crises and food shortages. Irma makes landfall in Florida, where several million lose power.

Pop Culture:
Super Bowl LI was a football game played at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, on Sunday, February 5, 2017,to determine the champion of the NFL for the 2016 season. The AFC champions New England Patriots, after trailing by as many as 25 points (28-3) during the third quarter, defeated the NFC champion Atlanta Falcons, 34–28 in overtime. The Patriots' 25-point comeback is the largest comeback in Super Bowl history, and Super Bowl LI was the first to be decided in overtime.

Personal History:
My family visited my cousin in new jersey, and spent a week at her beach house. We had a fun time at the ocean city boardwalk and even swam with dolphins. Though my favorite part was catch a small reef shark.
