Following the death of US Ambassador Adolph Dubs at the hands of the regime, the US cuts off assistance to Afghanistan and begins to send funding to both Pakistan and the Mujahideen resistance which is brewing there, arming them with weapons and supplies to fight back against the Soviet-backed Afghan army.
