The Fair Labor Standards Act was passed. It set the maximum hours of work at 44 hours per week, which decreased to 40 hours after a couple years. It also set the minimum wage at 25 cents an hour, which increased to 40 cents an hour. Further, the Act set rules for the employment of young workers and banned hazardous work for those under 18.
