The assassination of a German diplomat provided Hitler with an excuse to finally declare war on Jews. On this night, many of Hitler's troops began destroying any sort of property belonging to an identified Jew, such as homes, shops, or synagogues. This occurred all throughout Germany and Austria, and thousands of Jews were either killed, arrested, or sent away to concentration camps.
