1 Jan 200 Jahr v. Chr. - Parchment
Beschreibung:
Parchment began to supplant papyrus as the dominant material for written records in the last century or two preceding the Common Era (Galbraith, 2020). Parchment had some key advantages over papyrus, as it was extremely durable and easier to obtain in colder climates that could not support the growing of the papyrus plant (Raven 2023). However, it was much more expensive than papyrus, and contributed to the higher cost and relative scarcity of written materials in the Middle Ages (Sington, 2020).
