1 Jan 1250 Jahr v. Chr. - Wax Tablet
Beschreibung:
First appearing in Ancient Greece around 1250 CE, the wax tablet was an easily-erasable format useful for short-term record keeping and note-taking. They were small and portable, and sometimes were bound together in a manner that resembled the later codex, making them an early format that afforded the user random access (rather than linear access, as in a scroll) to the information they contained (Galbraith, 2020).
About the image: These Byzantine wooden writing tablets were created circa 500-700 CE (The Metropolitan Museum of Art).
