The Sydney Harbor Bridge officially opened on March 19, 1932. It had a grand ceremony that attracted thousands of people to come watch the NSW Premier Jack Lang cut the red ribbon. There was a massive public celebration that included fireworks and marching bands. The bridges opening is a significant date not just for the people of Sydney but for the whole of Australia as it has come one of Australia's main landmarks.
