In the early morning of December 2nd, a Army autopsy of five of the euthanized monkeys from the Reston monkey house was performed. In this sample of monkeys, who had only been dead for an hour, showed symptoms that heavily aligned with Ebola. The signs of Ebola was described as "obvious," the monkeys had gut lesions, sloughing of intestinal lining, unusually runny blood, and high amounts of clotted blood. Some of the monkeys were even described as a "heap of mush and bone in a skin bag."
