After several postponements, the experimentation of a hydrogen train is going to be a reality on the TER Loches-Tours line. It will take place on February 1, 2023.

If last August, Philippe Fournié was talking about a two-week experiment with travelers, it is not yet official. All this needs to be validated," confirms the mayor of Loches. Electrifying the line is very expensive, for Tours-Loches it will not be possible, hydrogen seems the best low-carbon solution.

This will certainly not be the last development on this line. The idea of reconnecting Tours to Châteauroux, via Loches, by train is gaining ground. If everything remains to be done, starting with the studies, two elected members of the regional council - Dominique Boué and Isabel Teixeira - are calling for the formation of a citizen's committee for the reopening of the line. This is a new appeal, while several elected officials of the Indre region have already taken a position to support this reopening.
