"On Wednesday, July 14, the European Commission presented its ""Fit for 55"" climate package. Aiming to achieve the objectives of the Green Deal, it is largely favorable to zero emission vehicles.
- Reduce the continent's greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030 compared to 1990.
- Reducing new thermal car sales by 55% and then, in 2035, a 100% reduction from 2021 levels.
- Every 60 kilometers for electric charging and every 150 kilometers for hydrogen refueling.
- Focus on kerosene for flights within the EU from 2023.
- EU imports in five highly polluting sectors - steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers and electricity - could also be subject to a tax
- Raise the share of renewables in its energy mix to 40% by 2030"
